The U.S Department of Commerce’s Office of Financial Services Industries and Finance, Credit, and International Business Association (FCIB), in cooperation with the U.S. Export–Import Bank, the U.S. Small Business Association, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the International Factoring Association, the Association of Trade & Forfaiting in the Americas, and BAFT-IFSA (Bankers Association for Finance & Trade–International Financial Services Association), worked with the California Centers for International Trade Development (CITD) for creating a Spanish version of the Trade Finance Guide. The Spanish version will help SMEs expand their global presence, especially in Mexico and Latin America, where Spanish is the primary language.

The Trade Finance Guide’s inaugural Spanish version was officially released on May 8, 2013 as part of World Trade Week 2013. Sponsored by the Los Angeles Regional Export Council, FCIB, Comerica Bank, and the Port of Long Beach, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a full-day Trade Connect finance seminar.

The Los Angeles CITD would like to thank Yuki Fujiyama, Author and Project Manager, for his collaboration and continuous efforts to allow us to complete the Memorandum of Agreement with the U.S. Department of Commerce and for his patience and support throughout this very long process. We would also like to thank Cheryl Hines at Keylingo Translations for her excellent work.
