The Los Angeles Regional Export Council (LARExC) was created in 2011 to facilitate regional–based business and community leader participation in Southern-California global business recruitment, retention and development efforts. Private investment by some of California’s most prominent business leaders has resulted in the creation of innovative marketing programs, significant gains in industry growth and economic development.
While retaining our mission of creating jobs through exports, we support trade and foreign direct investment missions targeting California business recruitment and expansion. LARExC has experienced great success in bringing innovation to California’s international trade strategy. LARExC works in partnership with the California Governor’s Office of Economic and Business Development, the Los Angeles Mayor's Office of International Trade, as well as the economic development agencies in the five county region of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura, to create and support cutting-edge initiatives that are focused on expanding economic opportunities for Southern California.
LARExC is organized as an affiliate member of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, which is a private 501(c)(3) organization. It is managed by an independent, non-partisan board of directors who represent many of the LA region’s leading global trade development organizations. LARExC is supported by member-based businesses and organizations working to expand international trade and investment opportunities for Southern California.
