Marissa Rivera has worked for the County of San Bernardino’s Economic Development Agency for 9 years. She is responsible for managing special projects related to business retention and attraction efforts in alignment with the Countywide Vision – “Our job is to create a county in which those who reside and invest can prosper and achieve well-being.” Building relationships with international and regional businesses, community partners, education partners and regional stakeholders to support investment, job growth and economic prosperity are Ms. Rivera’s focus of work.
As a life-long County resident, Rivera is committed to fostering positive change in communities. She believes education can transform the future and she works closely with business and education partners to support initiatives that can effect change.
Rivera has worked for the County for 26 years. Prior to joining the Economic Development Agency, she worked for the Office of the Sheriff and the Office of the District Attorney.
Rivera holds a Master of Corporate Real Estate designation from CoreNet Global. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, San Bernardino. Rivera is the past recipient of the County’s Award for Excellence in 2008 and 2014. She is also the recipient of the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools Partner of the Year Award in 2014 and the District Attorney’s Diamond Award in 2001.
